The Role
We are seeking a Junior Strategist with a passion for research and insights, particularly within the realms of sports, esports, and gaming fan cultures. This role is designed for a curious and driven individual who will play a critical part in shaping strategies through data collection, fan research, and creative insight generation.
Job Purpose
As a Junior Strategist, you will bridge the gap between research and strategy, helping the team deliver innovative, fan-centered campaigns. You will focus on uncovering key audience insights, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to inform creative strategies and support senior strategists and account teams.
Main Responsibilities and Activities
Conduct primary and secondary research to uncover insights into fan behaviors and trends, with a focus on sports and gaming.
Collaborate with the strategy and creative teams to ensure research findings inform campaign development and execution.
Utilize both qualitative and quantitative research tools, including social listening platforms (e.g., Meltwater) and survey tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey), to develop a deep understanding of fan cultures.
Develop discussion guides, conduct one-on-one interviews, and script surveys to support strategic initiatives.
Analyze data from sources such as the Fan Intelligence Network, GWI, and other market research tools, translating findings into actionable insights.
Support the preparation of reports, trend analyses, and thought leadership pieces for clients.
Assist in monitoring campaign performance, contributing to ongoing optimizations and recommendations.
Present research findings to internal teams and occasionally to clients, ensuring insights are clearly communicated and actionable.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, providing the wider team with innovative insights on the latest developments in sports and gaming culture.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for:
A strong understanding of primary and secondary market research techniques.
Some experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
A keen interest in fan culture, sports, and gaming, with the ability to connect insights to broader cultural trends.
Excellent analytical skills, with an ability to interpret data and uncover insights.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence in presenting research findings.
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work collaboratively with other team members across various departments.
Previous agency experience or a background in marketing/research would be a bonus.
